| Compared to other surrounding states, Louisiana will have the biggest reduction of all in cotton acreage: 411,000 acres in 2007, down 34.8%. This compares to decreases in Alabama of 22.1%, North Carolina 23.2%, Mississippi 23.8%, and Texas 6.3%. Reference: Cotton Grower, March 2007.
